About Wingmaster Kennel - Chesapeake Bay Retriever dogs and home companions
I feel truly blessed to have been born an Eastern Shoreman. Five generations before me have been living off the land from farming, fishing and hunting. Thanks due to “Pop” who was an avid outdoors man and made the adventures endless. We were continuously exploring the fields, woods, creeks and bay and finally the Barrier Islands, where I discovered my great passion for duck hunting. Of course, hunting those tidal creeks and bay made it mandatory that I have a great retriever!
I got my first "Chessie" as a teenager. Ducks were plentiful, limits were higher and that “bay dog” took her responsibilities very serious. The adventures I’ve had with those bay dogs and some of the things I’ve seen them do in the most extreme conditions is truly remarkable.
Now we have a Chesapeake crew of nine, some are in retirement and some are just starting out and we are fortunate to have a litter of pups every now and then. Our Chesapeake Bay Retrievers have ten acres of fenced seaside property to roam freely on with access to hundreds of acres of seaside marshes for training, hunting and exploring. We still take the crew to the Barrier Islands for play time and are always amazed at their strength, energy and enthusiasm!
